Good morning, good afternoon and good evening!

Welcome to ImageSCape Pictures. I'm Jim, the resident photo-nut and head lens cleaner of ImageSCape Pictures.

ImageSCape Pictures is built from both my love of photography and my belief that photography can be a way for people to connect; good photography can help people appreciate each other and their world and good photography can show you a surprising, unexpected and unique perspective to the things around you.

When I was younger, law enforcement was a calling for me, and I'm proud of the work I did for my community. However, after 12 years, I realized I needed a break from the constant battle with the ugliness that I saw up-close and personal on a constant basis. I left active law enforcement to pursue other goals, and returned to college to finish my Bachelor's Degree. After leaving, I needed something to bring the beauty back to my everyday world. I had been dealing with the ugly in the world for so long that was all I could see. This is where photography once again came to the rescue.

I can't remember when I first picked up a camera. According to my family, some of their earliest memories are of me with a camera in my hands exploring my world. Photography gives me a way to see things clearly, rather than what I expect to see. When you are taking pictures, you don't take anything for granted. Everything - from the angle and color of the light, to the elements that compose your picture, to the equipment that you choose - affects the image that you want to preserve. Photography continues to teach me to appreciate the world I am in, and to enjoy all the moments and places I take pictures of. With photography, I get to visit places that I have never been, often never heard of or haven't been to in a long time. I get to rediscover the beauty in the area around me, and I'm most often found between sessions exploring the back roads of South Carolina with Radar, my furry photography assistant.

Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, once said that, "Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory." The idea of creating memories is at the forefront of my mind when I am working with my clients. From the very beginning, as we communicate to discuss what you have in mind, the perfect location, and the style of the pictures I will take for you. My goal is to create that photographic moment that will trigger a great memory for you in the years to come.
